Biography

Karl Jacob is a five-time entrepreneur who has been building, advising and investing in companies for the last 18 years. Jacob is currently the CEO and Founder of Hangtime, building a way for consumers to see their friends’ social plans. Jacob raised over $200 million from prestigious investors including Microsoft, eBay, Integral Partners, Norwest Ventures, Greylock, Benchmark Capital, FT Ventures, Ignition Partners and Vulcan Ventures. He started four companies taking them from no revenue to positive outcomes. One of his companies, Dimension X, was acquired by Microsoft in 1997 and Keen/Ingenio, was acquired by AT&T in 2007. His other two companies Coveroo and Cloudmark are profitable and generating substantial revenue. While CEO, Jacob has generated over $300 million in returns to investors and over $150 million in revenue per year. He was one of the first advisors at Facebook and currently advises several companies. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from University of Southern California Engineering School where he sits on the board of counselors.
